I’ve always been a proud West Virginian so I was particularly upset to learn that the National Guard soldiers ambushed in DC were from my home state.
On Thanksgiving day, I joined a panel hosted by Christina Ruffini to discuss preliminary details of this despicable crime. I spoke about the law of firearms and foreign-born people, what potential charges might apply, and why the soldiers’ federal status matters to the prosecution.
Sarah Beckstrom has since passed away from her injuries. Seeing the outpouring of grief from people who knew her, I’ll bet she was a wonderful person. What a terrible loss for the world. Andrew Wolfe is still recovering from his serious injuries.
